As International Women’s Day fell during the month of Ramadan this year, local voluntary sector groups wished to celebrate women during this month.
The Safer Ealing Partnership’s, Male Violence Against Women & Girls (MVAWG) members worked together to hold this event at the Young Adult Centre in Southall. There was a great attendance from residents, the local police, community and faith leaders as well as councillors and the MP for Ealing Southall, Deidre Costigan who took the opportunity to speak to local community members and break iftar with young members in our community. The local Iman from Southall provided a positive message about the honour and importance of women and the key role they play in providing a better society for all.
