New expectations for licensed premises in Ealing – free training available

Licensed premises play a vital role in creating safe environments, particularly within Ealing’s nighttime economy.

Following the review of Ealing Council’s Licensing Policy, there is now a stronger focus on tackling male violence against women and girls (MVAWG) and on ensuring licensed businesses understand risk, prevent harm and respond appropriately when someone is vulnerable.

To support licensed premises in meeting these expectations, we are offering free Ask for Angela and Welfare and Vulnerability Engagement (WAVE) training. This is a nationally recognised scheme, specifically designed for licensed settings, which provides practical guidance on identifying and responding to risk.

This training will help you and your staff to:

  • Meet the expectations set out in Ealing’s Licensing Policy
  • Recognise signs of vulnerability and risk
  • Respond safely, confidently and discreetly
  • Demonstrate a proactive approach to safeguarding and public safety

Each participant will receive a certificate at the end of the training, and links to free videos and resources to download.
